False Statements From Unreliable SEO Providers

By Cathy Franklin

It is not unusual to hear stories about recognised brands and corporate giants being penalised by Google. The likes of JC Penney, a reputable US department store, was plagued this horrendous incident when Google smacked it with a 90 day penalty because of suspicious paid links. This event not only put the brand under extreme scrutiny, it also ushered in huge revenue losses for the corporation.

The desire of the majority of companies to own Google's top spot may imply several dangers. Sometimes, this ravaging desire can be out of control especially when they choose to work with just anyone who pretends to know SEO. Because the Web is a breeding ground of scammers and spammers, this mindset cannot be tolerated. When searching for an SEO provider, let utmost caution and pragmatic thinking inspire you. You can't just accept any offer without getting to know your SEO partner!

The mistake of choosing an incompetent provider can boomerang. What do you lose? Almost everything. You don't just lose your rankings and money, you also lose your online reputation!

They often say that prevention is always better than cure. In this case, this rings true. Before you hire, take time to sift through your options, understand the proficiencies of your aspiring SEO partners on your list and find out whether or not they have the proficiencies to amplify your site rankings with speed and efficiency.

To make things easier for you, here are two lines that tell you that an SEO firm is not trustworthy.

They claim to be connected to Google. This line is used by SEO spammers to get customers to rely on their strategy. Unfortunately, these business entities don't have any strategy other than black hat and they certainly don't have this mysterious relationship with Google.

They have secret SEO techniques that work. Keep an eye on anything offered that has the word secret. In the SEO sector, nothing is secret. Google has carefully laid down every guideline and every rule that's beneficial to online marketers. So if an SEO firm tells you they have some secret optimisation techniques that do wonders to your site rankings and web designing offerings, do not listen.
