First Impressions About Your Website

By Lemon Danika

A well-designed website is probably the single most important aspect of your business marketing these days. When someone visits your site, their first impression is incredibly important, and the likelihood of them supporting your business is affected greatly.

It takes less than two-tenths of a second for an online visitor to form a first opinion of your brand once they've perused your company's website. Studies have been done where researchers observed the eye movement of people viewing a webpage, and they kept track of the amount of time spent on each section. The page split up into parts such as the social media section, the navigation menu, logo, and other images. Which images are selected for the page is a vital component, as well as the color scheme.

Make your web design simple and familiar. It's wise to go with what is known to work. There is a generally accepted notion about the look of e-commerce websites. It's a significant gamble to go with a website that is too different from the norm. Studies show that these designs are not preferred by the public.

Keep the time that webpages take to load on your site as quick as possible. If pages are loading slowly, it will waste the time of your visitors and make them impatient. When things load seamlessly on the page, the odds are much greater that people will remain on the website for a longer time.

There are many things to a good website, but perhaps none are more important than the layout of the site. The layout of a website should be in such a way that it draws the visitor's attention to the most important items of a webpage. Apart from making the page to look attractive, a good layout will also make it easy for the visitors to use your site.

The look of the site will help make the site's content more presentable to the user. Many people will go on the assumption that because the site looks good, the company is reputable and produces quality products and services.

When there is too much going on, people begin to look at this in a negative instead of positive way. When there is too much happening on a page, it's not so good looking anymore. Visual appeal, plus design issues relevant to site navigation appeared to exert a strong influence on people's first impressions of a website. Poor interface design is particularly associated with rapid rejection and mistrust of a website. When someone sees the homepage of a website and is not pleased with the design and layout, they mostly just abandon the page and never return.
