3 Ways to Convert Your Photoshop Designs to HTML Markup

By James Desjarlais

When developing a website, PSD to HTML coding plays a big role. When a designer creates a design in Photoshop, the file is not compatible with major web browsers. It must be converted to a HTML document. HTML or Hyper Text Mark-up Language is the basic programming language for websites and it is read by web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Opera, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

For graphic designers there are 3 ways in which you can convert your design into a web page. They are: 1) do it yourself, 2) use conversion software or 3) hire a PSD to XHTML service company to convert it for you.

Do It Yourself - If your knowledgeable with HTML coding and using Adobe Dreamweaver then you can easily do it yourself. The disadvantage of this is that you have to spend time coding instead of doing what you do best, which is graphic dsign. Many people prefer to focus on their core abilities instead of dabbling in too many things at once.

Use of Software - There is actually software available which will convert your Photoshop design to HTML by installing a simple add-on to Adobe Photoshop. This can save you a lot of time but the outcome is not always the best and you have to learn how to use the software and it will never have the attention to detail like a human will.

Hire a PSD to HTML Coding Company - This is the most widely used option for graphic designers. Companies which specialize in HTML coding are very knowledgeable and they are capable of converting your design rather quickly and with amazing results. There are many of these companies in the USA, Canada and India. It's important to find a good company which offers good prices without sacrificing quality. I would recommend you do your due-diligence on any service provider you wish to hire. Simply doing a search in Google for "psd to html service" will give you many companies to contact.
