Planning and Organizing Your Webpages for Optimum Design

By Andy Wong

Any person who spends money with any business or salesperson will be influenced by the appearance of the business, and the same effect applies with your website design. Once you get enough education about what is important, then you can design your site according to your liking as well as what your niche will accept. It is understandable if you feel a bit confused about this subject. Let's look into a few web design factors that you should be focusing on

As you very well may imagine, how you set-up your site navigation is incredibly important. When you organize the navigation during the process will definitely be reflected in the finished site.

Your navigation shouldn't be confusing nor inconsistent, but rather should be in a flow. Your visitors shouldn't need to search around to go from one page to another; one of the best web designs are all about user friendly interface where the user doesn't have to think much. When your navigation is crooked, your overall site's design tends to look broken, which doesn't give a good impression to your visitors.

Check your site when all is said and done because you do not want to find glaring mistakes from your visitors. This applies whenever you make any changes to your site's design, because many times webmasters uploads some changes, while being confident in their abilities, they discover that while trying to fix one thing, they ended up having something else broken. Just be sure to get in the habit of looking at your site even after the smallest change is made.

You need to help as many people as possible to have a positive experience at your site, so that means making use of alt tags on images. Alt tags not only help visitors that are visually impaired but also play a key role in helping your site rank in the search engines. By filling out the alt tag with a primary or secondary keyword phrase, you will score a few points. If you do not optimize for search, then it is still a great idea for vision impaired people. What people usually do is insert keywords into the graphic image alt tag. Even if your site contains only a few images, they all should contain the Alt tag. Every little design element that you add to your website will in some way or the other contribute to the overall growth of your site, so make sure you're spending a good amount of time improving the web design of your site so that you're not only able to get new visitors, but also retain the old ones.
