How To Get Your Web Design To Help Your Business

By Diane Richard

The presence of absence of a professional and clean website design is up to you, and those choices will effect who does business with you or opts in to your newsletter, etc. Your focus should be on making your site's design stand out from the rest, pass on the right message to your visitors and at the same time be visually appealing. It is understandable if you feel a bit confused about this subject. Help is here because we will treat you to some effective webpage design tips that will only help you make better sites.

Isn't it very obvious that you should take the content on your webpages through a basic spell check? If you are going to put in all that hard work on your design, then save some effort for your text. There really is no excuse for messing this one up since a spell checker is so common. Even if the smallest mistake or error creeps into your content, it won't take time before your site is labeled as being "unprofessional". Just get in the habit of checking it every time you finish writing something.

We know that privacy policy pages as well as disclaimers and others are not design elements, but people do check for them and actually read them, too. You just never know with people, and that is why it is important to buy these forms that you can use on any site you have. Some visitors may not do business with you or give you their contact information if you do not have a privacy policy and other notices. The bottom line in all of this is you need to protect yourself and your business.

You more than likely have seen enough examples of this so you have a pretty good handle about it. Hopefully it goes without saying that every page on your site must have this link to home. Keep your link structure consistent on your site which means the home page link will always be in the same spot. If you use a logo, the very often people will, or may, assume the logo link is the homepage link - but we would not always assume people know.

Another consideration is browser loading time, and if you are doing SEO then that is important. You can and should link to your content from a page that is heavy with Flash, but we would have to ask you why you want to use Flash. There are a lot of people who prefer to avoid dealing with Flash completely on webpages, so the external link to content may be a good idea. If your goal is to give your visitors the best possible experience on your site, you have to keep in mind that every feature, button, color, font choice, etc. will have some impact on the way your site looks and how people react to it.
